Music has always played a large segment of my life. From the age of 3, I started to play the violin and continue playing the instrument. As a composer, I strive to bring my musical ideas to fruition, regardless of medium or form of collaboration: from composing for the Prague Philharmonic to performing my rap songs with a live band, collaborating with film and animation directors, or producing his own concerts and overseeing the creation of his music videos.
My compositional approaches tend to be multi-faceted. I combine genres, such as rap and contemporary classical music in my work Mikronos (2024), while also being devoted to recorded music and song writing. In my string quartet Perspektives (2024), I combines tonal harmony with extended techniques. In Konvo (2025), I integrate a quadraphonic playback setup with clarinet in B♭, trombone, violoncello, and double bass.
Recent collaborations include the creation of three music videos featuring my music with the Theatre Faculty (DAMU) and the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague, as well as projects with choreography and dance students at the Music and Dance Faculty in Prague. I have also contributed music to films by animation students at FAMU and multimedia students at the Faculty of Business Administration in Prague (VŠE).
Outside of composition, I specialize in rap music, from writing lyrics and melodies to mixing and mastering at my studio in Prague, co-run with Petr Zverina. I have worked with numerous recording artists in the United States and the Czech Republic, assisting at all stages of music production. In May 2023, I founded my music label, 702 Worldwide Records LLC, registered in New York State, which manages my publishing and performance royalties.
My upbringing was never truly in one location. In early childhood, I grew up in Ostrava, Czech Republic, with my mother and three siblings, while my father, Petr Kotik (composer), regularly traveled between Ostrava and Brooklyn, New York. To maintain a close relationship with both parents, I frequently traveled to the United States, receiving education in both countries from the age of ten. In September 2013, two months before turning twelve, I moved with my mother to Brooklyn.
I continued my education in Brooklyn and Manhattan, later attending Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where I majored in violin performance. In my senior year of high school, I studied composition privately with Carl Bettendorf at Columbia University, which inspired me to pursue a degree in music composition.
After graduating high school in 2019, I enrolled at CUNY Brooklyn College as a music composition major. Under the tutelage of Dalit Warshaw, Polina Nazaykinskaya, Douglas Cohen, Morton Subotnick, and Jesse Mills, I developed my skills in orchestration, electroacoustic composition, and violin performance. After earning my Bachelor of Music degree in May 2023, I returned to the Czech Republic to continue my degree in music composition.
I am currently completing a second undergraduate degree at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) under the guidance of Michal Rataj, PhD. In my final years as a student in Prague, I have composed numerous works that cross genres and explore spatial sound, while collaborating with multiple academic institutions across the city, including UMPRUM, FAMU, the Faculty of Business Administration, DAMU, and the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University.
I continue to be driven by musical creation, whether working independently or collaborating with like-minded artists.
